Cosmetic Glass Bottles

To sterilize cosmetic glass bottles, there are several methods that can be used:
High-pressure steam sterilization: This is one of the most commonly used methods. Place the glass bottle in a high-pressure steam sterilizer and sterilize it at 121°C, usually for 15 to 20 minutes. During the sterilization process, make sure that the bottle cap is loose to prevent the bottle from breaking due to pressure accumulation.

Dry heat sterilization: If you cannot use a high-pressure steam sterilizer, you can choose dry heat sterilization. Heat the glass bottle in a hot air drying oven at 170°C for at least two hours. This method is suitable for high-temperature resistant glass bottles, but good ventilation needs to be ensured to prevent glass fragments.

Boiling method: If there is no high-pressure steam sterilizer or dry heat sterilization equipment, boiling method can be used. Put the glass bottle and the bottle cap into boiling water and boil for 20 minutes, then take it out and cool it. This method is simple and easy, but the boiling time needs to be adjusted according to the altitude.

Chemical disinfection method: For some glass bottles of special materials, chemical disinfectants can be used for disinfection. For example, soak the glass bottle in chlorine-containing disinfectant or 75% ethanol solution. This method is suitable for glass bottles that cannot withstand high temperatures.

Gas sterilization: When the material cannot withstand high temperatures, gas sterilization can be used. For example, ethylene oxide (EtO) gas is used for sterilization. This method is suitable for plastic containers, but it is less common for glass bottles.

Before any sterilization method is carried out, the glass bottle must be thoroughly cleaned to remove surface dirt and impurities. In addition, special attention should be paid to protecting the bottle mouth and bottle cap during the sterilization process to avoid contamination. The selection of a suitable sterilization method depends on the specific use environment and the material of the glass bottle. High-pressure steam sterilization and dry heat sterilization are the most commonly used and most effective methods, but boiling is also a viable option if there is no equipment.
